The Profits Software Group, Inc. (TPSG) is the developer of PROFIT$. Formerly the Products Group of Delta Business Systems, Inc., TPSG incorporated as a separate business entity in 1993, devoting itself solely to the sales, development and support of the PROFIT$ software product.

During the mid-80's, when the only solutions available were low-end contact managers and high-priced sales software, the PROFIT$ design team envisioned a "total" sales force automation solution at an affordable price. They wanted PROFIT$ to not only address the needs of outside sales but also address the needs of inside sales, marketing and management at a price the average company could afford. They felt this could be accomplished by providing a comprehensive tool set in a framework flexible enough to respond to the most demanding business requirements. They chose a fourth generation programming language, Progress, for the development of PROFIT$ because it offered the greatest possible range of design options for multi-user, multi-platform environments.

Since its first introduction to the marketplace in 1988, PROFIT$ continues to be enhanced by TPSG in response to customer requests, changes in technology and the growing demands of the marketplace. TPSG is one of the few software vendors who will modify its product to meet very specialized needs of a customer and then support those modifications in future releases of the product. With this philosophy, TPSG offers its customers a "complete and total" solution as opposed to an 80% solution.
